I have a Camry SV40 with an original 4sFE 1800 cc Engine. This engine is equiped with electronic distribution. I recently changed my engine to a 3SFE 2000cc. However Idid not recieve the ECU for this enging. IS there anything I can do to modify my existing ECU to work on this new Engine?

never heard of such a thing. SV40 or 4SFE. we only got the 3SFE in NA so doubt youll find much actual info about swapping one to the other, but it is unlikely that the 4S can be modified for the 3S.

your just gonna have to find an ECU for that engine.

Tommy is correct, you will have to get a 3sfe ecu. I have heard of the 4sfe before, from what I know they are in some camry's in russia. Got any pics of your camry?

tommy, i think the sv40 is the toyota vista chasis code.

Yes, 4s-fe is the European option.Russian users sometimes put them in in place of orig. 3sfe.
In most cases the comp must match replacement engine.

This is correct. The SV40 is a camry vista. This is the japanese model sedan. The difference with this model (1997) is these come with electronic distribution, no leads from distributor. I had to change the distributor and Knock sensor from the 1800cc engine on to the 2000cc engine..ECU for original engine can work , but with much less fuel pressure reahing the engine..
This is what needs to be modified on the ECU.
