dash pad removal below steering wheel?

How do you remove the dash pad under the steering wheel? I took the four bolts out of the bottom but can't seem to find what holds the top on and if they're screws or bolts where to access them. I don't have much Toyota experince but am impressed with how they're put together, even though it's causing me fits. Thanks TB

there's 7 bolts total holding it on.... take off the covers where the coin holders next to the light illumination switch..are one each side of the wheel....there's 2 there... take off speaker cover there's the other one.

lol I made that same mistake...I ended up RIPPING it off the dash...to find out that I could have just taken off the speaker cover (I didn't think it would pop off because it was on there good) and removed that last bolt there...Anyways, now I bent the dash frame so I'm driving around with my cruise control and illumination controls hanging...Now I need to figure out how I'm going to bend the frame back into shape...I hammer wont work....

Damn Toyotas are put together with TOO many bolts! On my Prelude, top of the line Honda back in 1989 ($20,000 in '88!), my lower dash cover is held on by I believe 4 screws and that's it! I think that's why I love Hondas so much, they're very easy to work on.

The only thing I can really say about toyota vs honda is that at least toyota's bolts weren't tightened with a air ratchet. The whole dash was pretty easy to get out.
