Arrow Did the 1989 Camry LE come with a power antenna?

I just bought a 1989 Camry LE w/ v6.
I need to replace my antenna, but have no idea how to do it. The antenna has snapped off, so I don't even know whether it is a power antenna or not? Does anyone know how to change these out or better yet, Is it a regular antenna or a power antenna? I can take some pictures of the antenna bas if that will help any.

Thanks a lot, everyone!

If a power antenna the motor would be directly under it, look for the motor.

I would be willing to bet it is a power antenna. I just looked and saw a bunch of stuff including a thick, black wire coming out of the bottom. I don't know what the motor looks like, so I can't tell you if there is a moto or not.

The thick black wire is the antenna cable for the radio, either type of antenna would have this cable. Do you hear a motor run when you turn the radio on and off? The power antenna has a plastic cable that moves the antenna mast up and down. Do you see this cable hanging out?

If its in the trunk, its power. If its on the a-pillar above the driver's door, its manual.

All LE's that I'm aware of had power antennas, base and DX models didn't.

It's a power antenna. Now, how do I replace it?

You can get a replacement mast from eBay or from the Toyota dealer.

Provided the power antenna motor still runs, you can remove the chromed nut that has the four slots and pull the remaining portion of the antenna mast out. There may still be some of the center nylon cable that pushes and pulls the antenna mast. You might be able to get that out by turning the radio on with the ignition in the accessory position, because the motor will push the rest of the cable out. You then take the replacement mast (with cable) and feed the cable down the hole. Have someone turn off the radio and you can feed the cable down the hole as it gets pulled in and you slide the collapsed mast in the hole as it feeds down. Replace the nut and you are done.
