I know the v6 rad is a tad thicker, also the neck that goes to temp sensor etc. is not the same location as the 4cycl. Can it work on a 4cyl.? I got the rad for free, almost brand new, i need to change my rad asap.
If you get the hoses to line up and the auto tranny cooler lines are in the same place, go for it. You will need to custom-make the inlet and outlet hoses from extra hose and small pieces of pipe.
You can get replacement radiators for cheap... why not go that route?

I looked into using a 4cyl rad for my V6 (the opposite of your situation) and it's a lot of work...not really worth it, even though the 4cyl rad would've been free for me at work. I got a new rad on eBay for around $50 shipped...

thanks white90dx, i dont have a lot of cash right now...and was lookin at the cheap way out. well TBay its would have been a lot more work for since its v6, less room than my 4cyl. Does the thickness matter? TBay u started body work on your car?
Heh heh, no...still recovering from a small bout of surgery, I'll be looking to start welding later this summer. Now it's a lottery: which of my three Yotas gets the body work done first?

A double row radiator will fit OK. If you get the hoses connected up, the frame should drop in. The other issue is the coolant temp switch location, might need to extend some wires.

The 3s-fe has the coolant temp switch on the engine water inlet, so at least that isn't a problem (getting the hoses to line up is a different issue!).
