Busted Power Antenna

Hi All,

I recently broke my power antenna when I got stuck behind one of those 'arm' things in a parking lot, and had to ram my way out, and stupid me, I forgot to put the antenna down, and it snapped right off

The motor on it works fine, just the mast is snapped off at the base, so I bought a replacement mast and nylon cord from the dealership, but when I went to put it in, I tried to turn the nut on the base of antenna mast outside the car (I thought I read thats what you had to do to remove a bad antenna mast), but all the nut did was just kinda spin in place... So is there something I'm missing here?

Here's whats left of the antenna base:

Welcome to the club haha, havent fixed mine yet. Aparently you can but a replacement mast from your local auto part store if the motor is ok.

Hmm, where is the slot to put the needle nose pliers in? I looked at mine, and the chrome nut on the top is a hex design, about 3/4" in diameter

If hex nut, try using a wrench instead of needle nose.
