87 Radio doesn't work - fuse?

I have a 87 with the factory radio / tape player unit. The unit doesn't look like it is getting any power. I checked the radio fuse in the under dash fuse box , and the radio fuse in the engine fuse box. Both of these are good. Is there an inline fuse coming off of the radio? I know on aftermarket radios there is typically a fuse in the harness?

Have you physically pulled the radio out and made sure it's all connected yet?

If it is, you can connect a wire from the power wire of the radio directly to the battery to see if the radio is dead or if it's something in between.

I haven't pulled the radio yet. I didn't see an easy way to get at it.

its very easy... 2 screws on under top of trim piece, gently pry off the whole trim piece, and then 4 screws holding the unit on.

best bet is the radio is dead...
dont know many with the stock radio, and if they still have it, they dont even use it..

If possible, use a magnent screw driver. It is a pain to find the screw that you took off the radio cage that fell out when you unscrewed it.

I'll be pretty darn suprise to find a 20 year old car radio that works completely. Most bet if it was working then didn't work all the suddent, the radio might be dead. I don't recall older model radios having fuses, at lease my dad's 86 stock radio didn't have any fuse from what I recall (I could be wrong about that, been a while)
