suspension question

i drive a I4 camry with stock suspension right now. I would like for the ride to be stiffer and also would like to lower the COG. I'm looking into buying the intrax suspension kit, but would like some feed back on somethign else.

I know that the V6 wagon suspension would be very stiff on my camry, and i was wondering if i was to go to the junkyard and get a full set of those, cut them to make the car drop about 2" all around. Would it be too bouncy? how would the suspension travel act? the stability? and also if it would make the comfort unbearable? Anyone have any experience cutting the V6 wagon springs?

Brian.

you're not driving a pickup truck, or an 80's low rider, you cant cut the springs and expect what you want.

thing about modern springs is that they are progressive. each coil adds up to the overall effectiveness of the coil and each coil has a different spring rate. youll screw up the handling, and it will likely be unstable.

V6 springs wouldnt be stiff anyways, all they would do is jack the car up a half inch or so.

Hit the search button and look up suspension in the Gen2 forum and youll see a world of information, because this topic has been covered at least 100 times.

Welcome to the forum btw..

Thanks for the quick reply and welcoming me to the forum. Yeah i was expecting the worse for the answer. Just wanted to know if it was a possiblity though. I will be going through the search, but for now the intrax springs seem the best. Anyone else have other A/M suggestions?

only quick easy viable option is KYB GR-2 struts if you have non-servicable and Tokio ?blue? inserts. also, search for that one, tell you how to figure out which you have/need.

i hear the GR-2's don't fair well after a drop of more then 1" i can't find anything on the tokio blue inserts.

Are the KYB strut mounts and strut boots a good bang for your buck performance upgrade?

I had the GR-2 struts with Intrax in my I4 and I had no problems.

Tokicos are better, but GR-2 will do fine.

Summit Racing is a good supplier of Intrax springs.
Even when on backorder, they are pretty quick.
I purchased 2 sets when on backorder and I still got them in 10 days.
