Timing Question for Camry

Hello, I have another question that maybe somebody can help me with. 88 Camry LE 4 cylinder automatic. When you're using the timing light, this particular one is and Inductive Timing Light with the dial on the rear that you can adjust from 0-60. My question is after I jump the bridge terminal T and E 1 do you put the timing light setting to 10 and then adjust the distributor until the notch on the bottom pulley lines up with the 10 mark on the motor? Or, do you set the timing light to 0 and then adjust the distibutor until it lines up to 10? I'm not quite sure how to use this light.

Thank you.

You can do it two ways:

1 - Set the gun to 10 degrees, and line up the pulley with 0 degrees

2 - Set the gun to 0 degrees, and line up the pulley with 10 degrees (probably the best way)

Tip: put some whiteout (for paper) on either side of the notch in the pulley. Makes it tons easier to see.
