no pwoer at all!! Fuel pump or Timing?

88 all trac....when I give it gas the car will barely..I mean barely go!
I replaced the plugs, wires, both filters, and cleaned the throttle body/intake!

I'm thinking timing the way it takes off with so little power! It takes forever to get up tpo 25mph/2000 rpms! If i'm at 15mph it will take forever to get to 20mph!
any ideas! I thought baout tranny but the rpms don't fly up and when it gets to higher
rpms (naturally) the car will run better and runs powerful)

It's just going up small hills and around corners mostly that the car will actually studde step/bogg down if you givew it to much gas to get up!!!

I'm going to get killed if I pull out in fron of someone!

I also have no CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON?

PLEASE HELP! Its' so bad that it's almost undriveable! I'm afraid
of getting killed if I pull out in front of someone!!!

I'm almost thinking the timing belt has jumped! or totaly off!
as bad as it is? what is the best & easiest way to check this

PLEASE only post one time.

Have you checked the timing or the fuel pressure? Since it runs better at high speeds I would think both of these would be exonerated.

Low fuel pressure may indicate a clogged fuel filter. Though since you say it runs well at high speeds I would think that it is ok.

You may have a broken fuel injector(s) (that was my problem). Or something that would affect the fuel delivery to/from one or more injectors.

The MAF may have a problem (though I think this usually triggers an error message)

I guess timing is a possibility but I would think that if it were off that it would affect you at slow speeds and at high speeds.

I would also check the air intake hose (the tube between the MAF and the throttle body) for leaks and good seals at each end.

Always my favorites: clean the IAC valve, the EGR valve (and its actuator & hoses) and the throtle body ports. Of course, check all vaccuum lines.

Surely there are more possibilities but this will get you started. You may find your model's manual on line. That has a troubleshooting guide. Others may chime in also. But next time, only post once. Several of the regulars won't respond to multiple posts...

My vote is on the ignition coil. You can get replacements from your local auto parts store. It is located under the distributor cap.

How about a defective fuel pump as in very fuel flow/pressure to the engine. Or plugged fuel filters.

Did you ever resolve this? Mine started doing the same thing just after changing the ignition coil. I'm going to catch it up on maintenance this weekend but thought I would see if there was something else I should look for...

Heres some other ideas to add to the pile...

how many miles on this engine? You didnt say but i'm guessing alot. I'd start with the basics:
1. Do a compression check on a warm engine. if compression is low, its time for a valve job, maybe rings, an in car overhaul to perform same, or another engine.
2. Fuel injectors can cause lost power as the other fellow says but if one or more is broken it will also usually idle very badly, and this is a tip off. If your compression turns out to be high and the engine mechanically sound, might be worth a try to have the injectors ultrasonic cleaned or replace them.
3. Exhaust system could be very badly restricted. maybe the catalyst is plugged, muffler baffles collapsed inside, etc.
4. Auto or manual trans? You didnt say! so I'm assuming auto. Because if you have a manual trans, maybe you just need a clutch?
