Mechanically it should be the same or similiar to the generation 1 Camry. It should have a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine designated by Toyota as the 2SE (or 2SELC) engine. This is a single overhead cam 4 cylinder engine with only 2 valves per cylinder. In my opinion it was one of Toyota's most reliable engines.

I thought that the Nova (Chevy) one was more or less a rebadge 5th Gen Corolla?

That year was based on an AE82 Corolla with a 1.6, probably the 4A-C or 4A-F. The Chevy or Geo Prism at some point was available with a 4A-GE but I don't know if it was available on that Nova.

I believe touringcamry is correct and I am wrong about it being similiar to the Camry. It is similiar to a Corolla.
