1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It was 1 year ago today that I picked up my Camry.
Just took it in yesterday for the 65k oil change, it had 42k when I got it.
In the 23,000 miles I've driven it, it's 50% paid for itself with gas savings compared to my Ram pickup (which I no longer have).
Paid $4000 for the Camry, which gets exactly twice the mpg I was getting with my Ram. I've spent about $2200 in gas, which means I've also saved $2200 compared to my truck.
I also no longer have the power, comfort, size, and utility of the Ram either.
Hey I'm new here but you remind me of myself making a 1st year anniversary thread on maxima.org when I got my maxima... congrats on the camry, I'm sure it runs a helluvalot better than my moms...

Wow, time sure does fly...I can't believe it's been a year since the basketweave search! Congrats! I just passed my Camry's five-year anniversary, and it's saved me roughly $15,000 since I bought it. Good gas mileage, and reliability like nothing else--even Honda.
