All Trac rear stuts from KYB: Need to find.

I need to replace the rear struts on my SV25 Camry.

Apparently In the US there seem to be no aftermarket struts available for the AllTrac Camrys. I called the stealership and discovered that Toyota wants about $240 a side for the original replacements. The OEM part numbers are 48530-32150 for the Right and 48540-32150 for the Left.

On http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com they want 171.56 each for them which seems a bit better but still is outside my budget.

But after some research I discovered that KYB does (or did) make aftermarket replacements. only problem they seem to all be overseas. So my question is primarily for toyotanation members who live outside of the US. Can anyone find out how much it would cost me to get a pair of the KYB struts for my car.

KYB part #s are 334054 (Right) and 334055 (Left)

If it helps here is a link for a company in the UK that seems to sell them http://www.transhock.com/appguide/tran0007/0007toyo.htm

Nope, they don't show the appropriate struts... When I plug in the KYB part numbers the search comes up with nothing.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I'm not sure what the actual difference is, but the rear of the car has significant changes compared to the 2WD Camry. Because of the rear diff and axles the fuel tank has been moved to under the spare tire wheel well, making the trunk shallower. Because of the depth of the trunk the rear bumper core mounts at a higher point than the 2WD, so you wouldn't be able to use a bumper from anything other than another 4wd. So my guess is the mounting points for the struts may have been shifted, changing the geometry of the rear, requiring struts with appropriate angles.

yeowch, that's pricey. we just priced out struts for our es250 and the dealer price (w/employee discount) was like $150/corner.

check out ebay, we have been keeping an eye out for parts for our es there, some are really reasonable.

Beware of the KYB #235043 and 235042. they will not fit your upper mounts. I just tried to put some on my all-trac. no success so far. Toyota where I live want $309.76 for these struts.

today I tried the KYB cartridges made for the rebuildable struts. those won't work either. Has anyone tried swaping the complete strut from a celica all-trac or GT4 into a SV25?

I bought the one for $171. With shipping the grand total was $377. still better than the $309 each that Spartan toyota wanted. They work great. Raised the back of my car 1". they don't come with anything. so you would have to get new boots and the 19mm nut for the top. But the boots you can get aftermarket. I saved my old mounts. I will cut them open and have my buddy machine the threads of some kyb inserts so I can make a pair of my own.

By any chance did you take any pics, I still haven't gotten around to changing mine out. It would be interesting to see how different they really are.

Different from what? the KYB's? what really gets me is the toyota struts are made by kyb. the Kybs mounts are taller and the mounting point for the brake line is on the opposite side. looks like the endlinks are in the proper location. but I do believe that if you machined the threads on the kyb's to match your upper mount and put them on a sv-25 it would raise the bumper hieght of your car alittle over 3". what do you want a picture of? I can pull a wheel and take a pic. I still have the GR-2's.
