1998 Camry LE - 4 cyl has a loud squeal when I turn the A/C or defrost on. It only occurs at low speeds. Can someone tell me what the fix is and if it is a DIY job?

the belt that runs the compressor is slipping....5 minutes to replace, an easy DIY

The a/c and defrost both activate the compressor

Im with Ivan, just change the belt, dont try to tighten it, just change it. And don't try no fargin' belt dressing for that squeak - just change it. Belt dressing eats the rubber after a couple weeks and you will just throw the belt when it breaks.
