2nd Generation swapping in the jdm 3sfe engine??

hey everyone. well i have 200000 miles on my 87 carmy right now and i was gonna put a 3sgte engine in it but i found out how much of a nightmare the wireing can be so now i'm leaning towards the jdm motor.... how difficult is this engine? and how much trouble would it be to swap over to a 5 speed... ?

straight forward... pull your old one out put in the new one. no wirings involved. can probbly crank it out over a weekend in your garage if you have an engine puller..well for the 5spd swap you need to start collecting parts... a tranny..clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder and slave, brake pedal from a 5spd it's smaller, shift linkage, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, clutch hardline from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder.

the engine is the same you don't need new anything...well if you'r going to use your old ECU u won't get any HP gains..i don't think those ebay engines come with ecu. any I4 camry 5spd will bolt up to it from 83-02 or whenever the last year was for the 5sfe.

^ No, No, No, and No.

If your replacing a 3S-FE with another 3S-FE, you don't need another ECU or wiring harness. Use your existing ECU and wiring harness.

3S-FE come with 6 bolt or 8 bolt crank. Make sure the engine your buying comes with the correct flexplate (automatic) or flywheel (manual) for the engine.

Use your existing manifolds and accessories. In other words remove them off your existing engine and bolt them onto the new engine.

Some of the sensors might be different, if so swap them with the ones from your existing engine.

if you read the warranty on the ebay engines only the long block and head is warranty to work. and nothing else, no sensors or accessory stuff.

Used JDM engines usually come as long blocks (block and head). So a warranty on the long block is all you need.
