Lightbulb Fuel pressure regulator?

So this bucking thing is driving me nuts... see my original thread on this for a vid of me puttzin around the parking lot at the mall.

I was looking under the hood the other day, and I was thinking two things:
1. there's this white-ish plastic nut on the end of the fuel rail. I assume it's an adjustable regulator. What's it supposed to be set to? I didn't take alot of time to look at it but is there a schrader valve to take a fuel psi reading? Or is it set at "x-turns out"?

2. would adjusting the maf sensor (yea that mod you take it apart, turn the wheel, it's 2am and I'm not going to dig up that thread but I think lots of you guys know what I'm talking about) possibly help?

Well, it's off to bed for me. Goodnight.
-Matt

The item under the plastic cap is the fuel pulsation damper .It is NOT a pressure regulator . It fails in two ways: it leaks fuel or the screw on the top goes loose resulting in longer cranking time. The pupose of it just to dampen the fuel pulsation.
AFM adjustment will not bring the power back to normal.
