2nd Generation Suspension for a 90 FWD

hi agen,

My suspension in my camry has shot according to the guy from Ape suspension that i talked to on the phone. Whenever i change gears the car bounces or when i go over a speed hump im still bouncing 10m down the road. It is also very squeeky. Judging by this is my suspension shot thru??

and if so would coilovers work from an st185 or 184 celica, or is it better off gettin a new set.

while i replace these i will also get it lowered, how low is too low on the 2nd gen?

thnx, any help would be much appriciated.

I think I have seen someone put the st185 coilovers on the front only. Don't know if you will need to modify anything. The squeeking is probably the control arm bushing and the continuos bouncing is your shock/struts.

Heres a control arm w/bushings and a ball joint on eBay

I think the Intrax look good enough with some nice rims IMHO.

you still have to press the bushings in there and get the old ones out, sometimes easier said than done without the right tools (at least from my experience lol).

Where can I get poly control asm bushings for the camry?

We should make a list of what parts fit on the Camry and from what cars they came from, for instance: Celica coilovers fit on the Camry (you know what I mean), sway bar bushings from a...will work on the Camry (?), Ect....

WHAT about rack and pinion? I want a quicker-ratio steering rack for the Camry, and I'm thinking that *maybe* a Celica rack may be interchangeable with a Camry rack? Stuff like this... I will keep searching though.

Is there a parts site that has a listing of 'X part fits (such and such) cars'? If that makes any sense...like a compatability chart for parts so you know that 'X part from Y car will also work on the Camry'?

....

you can get the polybushings at http://www.globalperformanceparts.com/ i talked to zach, and glenn from there... this is what you need...to replace all the bushings on the car.

PART # DESCRIPTION PRICE
SPF0511K Front Control Arm Lower - Inner Bushing Kit $38.08
SPF0321K Front Sway Bar To Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit $38.36
SPF1221K Rear Control Arm - Inner Bushing Kit $29.93
SPF1220K Rear Control Arm - Outer Bushing Kit $28.14
SPF0823K Rear Trailing Arm - Bushing Kit $38.27

i'm pretty sure the price went up by now... and since i already have whiteline bars..i didn't have to get those bushings that goes around the front/rear sway bars.. but you can email them and i'm sure they'll tell you what you need.... or you can also email george from raptor racing since i got them through his groupbuy he's a good guy also. george@raptorracing.com

i'm pretty sure there's no such site...

This is where I got my poly bushings. The price for a kit (inner and outer bushings) is $61.99 per side.

They also have a manual steering rack that I have been thinking about picking up for my car to see if I can make it work. Though, at $185.95, I might have to wait awhile.

Would ST18X coilovers sleeves work all the way around on a camry. I know that the lowering springs do... And considering the fact that the sleeves and springs sit on the same area as the strut they should work as well but I'd like someone with a bit more suspension experience on our cars to confirm.

This may be redundant, but my car has had it's struts done about 2 years ago (Monroe Sensatrak) and has always squeeked/groaned over speed bumps. Is that my bushings? I replaced the rear bushings that go around the rear sway bar and no help. The rear groans more than the front.

If you feel that your bushings may be squeaking you can spray them with a lubricant (many use WD40, I prefer silicon). If the squeak goes away then you have found your problem. Once you spray them it may quiet down for several weeksl
