Rain season is here...new wiper blades

Anyone know of some good and affordable wiper blades that can be purchased in almost any autoparts store? The chatter is getting to me now, and I don't want to WD40 the springs every week . It sucks that they don't sell the 'coating' for the windshield! By the way, I wiped the inside of my windshield with a shop towel and now I can see the glossy streak marks, even though the dirt is gone. What do you guys use to clean something like this?

Invisible glass works pretty well, just make sure you keep some dry paper towels in the car to get the smudge marks after it dries if your OCD about it like me.

I always buy the cheapest possible blades that don't squeal (usually ANCO) and toss them and buy new ones every year.

do they make the icons for the 2nd gen camry? i have tried bosch excel and they didnt work any better than Anco. i use Michelin right now. Oiling the spring is the best way to keep chatter from coming back. Trust me, I found that out the haaaard way after trying everything to stop that annoying chatter! Get the wally mart Ancos or Tricos or whatever they are.

well, the i know they have the ikons in the right size, the only question is what kind of wiper arms you have...if you have the one with the peg that goes into the blade, i know the ikons wont work (its a flaw that in my oppinion should be remidied by bosch) but im pretty sure that some camrys came with the type of wiper arm that would use those blades (the hook kind), possibly the later models...but also you could pull the arms off of a celica im sure...ill look into it, but the ikons are a silcone blade i believe, and they also use a flexible blade holder, so chatter is not an issue because they make exceptionally adaptive contact with the window, plus they have a more aerodynamic shape so that at speed they are not affected by the air over the windshield...if you can make them work, you cant beat them, i assure you

2nd Generation

wiper blades unfortunately are made of rubber, they tend not to last more than a year. I say just buy the cheapies and try using RAIN-X on your windshield, it works great, most of the time you dont even need to use your wipers...the rain slides right off. the only downside is it lasts about 2 weeks so you have to reapply it.

If your old blades are not ripped, I would first try to clean them by wiping them thoroughly with a rag/paper towel soaked in alcohol. Keep cleaning them until no more black gunk is coming off the refills. That black gunk is actually oil that is deposited by cars on to the road surfaces and then ends up on your windshield as other cars in front of you toss the rain off of their tires. This us what usually causes the blades/refills to streak and chatter. Give it a try. You have little to use.

Rain X. I second that suggestion. It doesn't rain often here (southern Arizona), but during the summer we have monsoons and it will POUR for awhile. With Rain X on my glass it really sheets the water off, making visibility much better. I have been too lazy to reapply it, but for me the Rain X lasted for months.

Wiper blades are wiper blades. It won't matter which one you get. It's all made the same kind of rubber.

I only seen one wiper blades that is actually worth the money if you can find it.

I thought they stop making it until I happen to find it in the store. That because they have lifetime warranty on them so I thought they were a victom of their own success.

The only place that has it is at Walmart. It's called triple edge wipers. It's made with a different kind of rubber that last forever. By the time you need to replace it, you probably will end up with another new car.
