Highest Miles on Gen 2

Hi
Im likely going to buy a 89 Gen 2 5 speed 4 Cyl while my 94 4Runner is enjoying some
downtime at my expense.

This camry has higher mileage on it however I know these cars are for the most part tanks
and can take some serious miles under their belts,

Anyway I searched and did not find a any threds on who has seen or has the highest mileage on their gen 2 camry.

Just Curious

Thanks
Jon

my 4cyl 2nd gen camry has 235,000 miles on it... and i race mine... still running smooth as ever. Although it burns a bit of oil... especially when I hit the RPM limiter at 6,500 rpm. I suspect you wouldn't be doing that to yours if you get one tho

Wow, this thread makes me really annoyed that the engine on one of mine took a dump at 173k miles...

My old camry had 260k miles on it before I sold it. My friend put about another 30k on it, then wrecked it.

I had 267k miles on my first one before I crashed it - that motor was in nearly perfect shape...

My current Camry had over 310k miles on it before the previous owner blew it up with a poorly tuned turbo...

Both '90 4-cylinder 5-speeds.

250k+ on both our 3s-fe engines, first car went to the junkyard because the body rusted out with the engine running great. second one we fixed up and sold for zero net operating cost after owning for a couple years. damn things are bulletproof.
currently have 150k on the 2vz-fe, camry got hit while parked on the street, dropped engine into lexus es250 with dead 2vz-fe in it (bad rod bearing)

maintain well and it'll take good care of you.
