Highway problem

I have a 1991 Camry SE (Canadian Car) with 205,000 miles on it. Now my question is when i go on the highway and get up to 60mph my car feels like its going to stall like when i try to go faster the car is like jerking back and forth.

i already changed the fuel filter and air filter on it.

Is there a way to fix this???

when was the last time you changed the spark plugs? that could be the culprit.

also, while you're at it, inspect the Intake hose. It may have cracks on it causing your car to not get enough air intake.

Also grab OBD codes.

A number of things could cause this, on a high mileage engine like this i think i'd start with a compression check. If compression is low you may just need a valve job hopefully.

If compression is good, im with the other fellow, do a complete tune up including cap, rotor and spark plugs. set the ignition timing too. If you still have the problem after all this, i'd suspect tight valves, or possibly worn out or dirty fuel injectors.

Just a hunch, but I would check the fuel pressure with a pressure gage. At that mileage your fuel pump could be getting weak.
