any help would be apreciated.

The front is a PITA. From what I heard and seen, it requires removing a small part of the lower dash (both the left and right front i believe). Not sure what speaker size the front uses, although it's the smaller ones. I believe they are 4" or either 3.5". Since my MX73 Cressida has that similar design with the speakers on the front, It is a feast since it requires removing more then just the cover to get to the speaker.

The rear should be easier. I believe you just pop off the speaker cover on the Gen2, but I don't really own a Gen2 (I own a Gen1). I was able to fit 2 Sony 6.5" using stock covers on the rear on my Gen1. Not 100% sure what the Gen2 uses though.

Hey, I think I may be able to help you with this one. I live on the south shore of MTL and Ive got a pretty decent system in my car. The underdash speakers are interesing but not impossible. Im running a 4" on each side, but i had to make enclosures for them, they actually sound pretty decent. To give you an idea if you want to go all out, In my car I'm running...

2 x 4" Power Acoustik underdash. I made the enclousers out of ABS tubes with a rubber membrane on the back to act as a bass refelx (this way the speakers have something to hold them back so they dont distort) The driver side fits no prob, the passenger side is a problem becasue of the fan blower, interesting...

2 x Power Acoustik 6x9 250 watt max --> I had to make fiberglass enclousers for them because there is absolutly no mounting depth in the Gen 2 camry, then i covered them with material similar to the interior of the car

2 x Power Acoustik FUBR subs -- (750 watts RMS each) (1800 watts max each) (3600 watts total power) all @ 4 OHMS, I run my system at 4 OHMS. I installed the whole system and made the box myself, couldnt buy a best buy one becasue the subs would blow it to hell, 4.4 CU FT box.

1 x Power Acoustik Class D monoblock amp -- 2000 watts RMS at 1 Ohm

1 X Power Acoustik 3 Farad capacitor

if you have any questions ask me, Ive been though this ordeal! The trunk looks nasty because I'm working on the car, welding and grinding makes a mess, when I'm done the body work on the car I'm going to put all the trunk back with a new carpet I have and set the wires up so it looks clean, here are some pics

Hope this excites you, rock on ganster camrys. I think I might start a thread, the sickest Sound System in a Gen 2 Camry, anyone dig?

No problem, the idea of decking out a camry with sick sound must be passed on, dont worry about being a noob, just dont admit it! And yes, 4" in the front, they were stock 3.5" though (crap). I could give you a step by step written out, but as for pictures I dont have the will to take my dash apart again for the 1000th time Let me know what YOU want to know. If worse comes to worse we might be able to meet, who knows I live on the south shore. Let me know,

Jamie

that'll do. Make sure you mount them in an enclouse or else they sound like crap, doesnt matter what kind of speakers you buy, if they play in free air they will bottom out and distort. This is why i mounted mine in closed tubes

As i mentioned, you have to make brackets. Sorry about the crude drawing...

you have to kind of suspend the speaker so it falls in the middle of the hole. You cant just screw them into the OEM speaker box location, the holes dont line up. I managed to do this crudley with some strips of thick plastic, you dont see it so it doesnt matter how you do it.
