finally got a picture of my instlalled pod filter. for 100$ i got my self a better sounding stock exaust system, more high end power, better throttle response and so on. heres a pic
Looks good, too bad the filter doesnt fit in the fender for that extra coldness What did you do in terms of the exhaust? I need to replace my pipe soon b/c it's developing leaks.
I was going to do something similar with the intake, but don't have the motivation until I can find a way to replace that restrictive z-tube between the AFM and the TB. I have only removed the sliencer in the fender so far.
I might do some 3" Home depot tubing like on my truck:
nice mine has a hole in the center mufler so im going to hack it off there fit either a hot dog or another muffler 2.5" pipe to the back were im going to mount a y piece with 2 small cannons so that should open up the sound a lil

.....but your sucking in hot air.....kinda defeats the purpose
hey, just joined today. love the work on your pod, got a q though......... how are you securing the pod and air flow sensor so it don't move around? i've already got most of the parts i want to do pretty much the same thing, but i'm gonna build an aluminium box to cut engine heat, and cut a hole in the bonnet. before i do it anyone got any suggestions or such?
That's an ambitious plan of yours, PaulyJay. Getting the aluminum housing to seat snugly with the contours of the bonnet/hood when it's latched will be tough. You'll probably need lots of weather-stripping (the foam tape for home windows).
For the opening in the bonnet, go to a scrap yard and try to find functional hood vents for a neat look. My coworker grabbed vents off of an old Turbo Sunbird, but I don't even know if GM sold those Down Under...

Honda my A$$, you just can't kill a Yota...
ah, some constuctive crit! anywho, i already have a bonnet scoop, very low profile...... have done this type of mod before but in a coon (thats aussie for ford falcon). worked well. as far as i know it's still runnin. however i didn't bother so much with the sealing aspect of the first project. this time is quite easy. take a long piece of standard upholsterers foam, (about 4cm x 3cm and bout a metre and a half to 2 metres long) wrap it in glad wrap (this sounds kinda gay but its worth doing to make the next step easier or so i'm told) next you need to get a water proof material, or thin but strong latex, and again wrap the foam. not too tightly though. once this is done use some double sided tape to attach it to the bonnet. abbra kadabra you have a well fitting seal for the top of the air box. obviously rubber grommeting is needed for the top of the box as this covers not only any lazy problems, ie not filing the top of box to clean it up, but means the seal is not cut in to through normal engine vibrations. when it's done i will post a finished pic and some construction pics aswell. there is no reason this mob couldn't be appropriatley applied to other cars too. like a pinto! ha!

hi paulyjay welcome to the forum m8, im Ozzie too where u from?
anyway, installing this has helped alot with my cars acceleration but mostly the higher revs around 4k rpm plus. Building an aluminum box would be easy done i helped a m8 do the same thing, what we did is strip out everything from around where the filter used to go and the proceeded to 'mold' the aluminum around the suspension housing and such.
On my car it is attached via two of these soft steel 'plates' that you can usually get around where you get the adapters in super cheap auto or similar. They hook under the hose clamp and bolt using the original screws into the car body.
so u a ford or a holden man (plese tell me ford lol)
