Hole in exhaust system..

Hey Guys, 1991 Camry and it appears I have a hole in my exhaust because it is really loud! So I am trying to prepare myself with how expensive this may be.. I read that if its the catalytic converter I could be looking at an expensive repair (live in PA and they do emission's tests so I need to replace it if that is the case) Going to post a picture because underneaths of my car really don't match what I am seeing on the internet.. http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sc00123xm3.jpg So is the whole piece my cat converter, and if so what do you guys think will this be an expensive piece to repair?

you actually took a picture of your flex pipe. a little further down is your cat. you should diagnose where the leak is coming from and then get it repaired? it shouldn't be too expensive to replace all the piping if it's all looking rusty.

NVM i think i see the crack. just tkae it into an exhaust shop and get an estimate.

it is not all that expensive of a repair. you can get that part at advanced auto and do it yourself if you have the patience. i think that part will probably be about 125 or 150 at advanced.

you'll pass smog since they'll be less going down to the end to the muffler where the sniffer is but that's not your cat anyways.
