I need to replace the parking brake components on my V6, but I hate paying dealer prices. So far I can't find the spring kit and shoes anywhere else, but I was hoping maybe someone else has had luck?

i still think the boneyard is the best place to go, alot cheaper than anywhere else and you could strike a gem, what you need should be easy to find.

Actually, I work part time at a scrap yard, and I have for the last two years of school...unfortunately, the only V6 cars that come through are DONE. I mean, nothing salvageable because they've been driven into the ground.

Believe me, if scrap yard parts were an option, I would be grabbing them at light speed.

No, rockauto cannot help me, sadly...I LIVE by that site, believe me...but no luck. Maybe I'll just frickin' call them to ask if they can special order for me...

I usually call around to dealership parts departments and get price quotes. Sometimes I've found dealerships that will cut me a deal! Good luck!

That's not a bad idea, really. A lot of people here go out of town to buy their Toyotas because the prices are so much lower in Manitoba (a 7-hour drive from me). Thanks for the idea, hopefully it'll work on parts too...
