I just checked car-part.com and there's a wrecker in Hamilton with a 251K km tranny for $260...cheap!

Yeah, the m/t 4WD Camrys are getting to be very few and far between. The only other one I've seen for sale in the last five years was completely rusted-out and unsalvageable. I have an auto 4WD Camry in the yard at work (wreckers) that I want to salvage but it needs a LOT of body work...sad.

I'll be dumping my 91 auto AWD when I find a good deal on a minivan or a newer Camry. Maybe 50$ or a bottle of wine or something. I'm in Ottawa though.

No, that's why I referred to the $260 tranny located a 30-minute drive away in Hamilton, Ontario. I wonder if any mechanic would safety a car without first gear?!?!

hey guys...today i went to look at the car...under body is in good shape, fenders have rust, basically u would need a new paint job and body work not too much...doors are solid, interior is very clean, no salt stain on carpet, almost new...engine bay is clean, fire wall u can actuall see the paint, no grime on it....it starts no problem....i didnt drive it cause one tire was flat. not too bad for 88...sunroof works....all around disk brakes, all power windows etc. nice car for a future 3sgte awd beast.
How are the rear wheel wells? Not just the quarter panel skins, but the actual wheel wells? Any holes in the trunk?

Just a note. Expansion foam is an awesome repair for the rear wheel wells. I had to do the same thing to my old Corolla too. 5$ and it is as quiet and dry as new. Just put some plastic bags around anything you may have to get to later like the gas cap release.
If only it could fix the gas filler pipe rust out that is so common.
Hey Nemo, check your private messages (PM)...if you really want to sell your All-Trac, let me know.

the wheel wells are not too bad...trunk is good no holes.... i tried to get in contact with seller, but no response, i dont know what's goin on. he would be lucky of he gets more than $5bills for it, i would not pay anything more that $250-300 for it....lotta mechanical work...but it is very rare.
