Hi All,

I have a 1986 camry that I have owned for 6 months. I went on vacation, came back and now the key won't turn! The steering wheel isn't locked, and I have tried all three keys over and over. All three worked before and there was never any issue with the key turning. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am thinking it has to be in the tumbler. Can I squirt something in there? It really isn't worth enough to go through an expensive repair. Can I just install a switch and do away with the key completely. Thanks for any and all help.

I have a similar problem where my key wont go in and I have to wiggle the key like crazy to get it in . I also am thinking about doing a push button start . Before the damn thing leaves me stranded !

One time on 84 cressida the similar problem was caused by broken lever for key reminder buzzer. The cylinder was removed, and the lever was cut off. I am not sure about your case.Try to inject WD40 into the key slot first
