Do any 2nd Gen Camrys use a 3SGE engine?

I had an engine rebuilt that was out of a 1987 Celica GTS, but as the engine was being rebuilt, someone came and stole the car body! I now have an engine with 0 miles, but no car! I know there are quite a few Celica GT's out there with the 3SFE engine, but I am having a hard time finding another GTS, so I wondered if any Camrys had a 3SGE engine in them? I have heard the FE (SOHC) to GE (DOHC) swap is pretty hard. Any advice is appreciated!

3SGE is a better motor anyway. I say go for it throw it in.

Even though the FE/GE are both DOHC....technically the "G" in GE stands for Twin Cam.

Thanks for the information. Can you tell I'm a rookie with engines? Anyway, I might look into finding a 87-89 Camry with a good body to drop it in!

Get a manual transmission 4-cylinder Camry if you can find it. Any one from '87-'91 will work. You'll also need the wiring harness from a Celica GTS from '87-'89 to put together with the Camry harness. If you have diagrams for both cars, it should be pretty easy to put them together (compared to other swaps, including the one I did). Mechanically, everything pretty much drops right in (the clutch is the only possible issue).
