1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Most of you have seen my car by now and know enough about it, but I thought I would introduce myself. Not much is new with the Camry other than 12000k HIDs, but I will be getting new rims and tires soon and maybe getting around to a dyno.
My girlfriend is enjoying daily driving my Alltrac at the moment. I found out that an ST185 rear swaybar fits on the Camry Alltrac (I just put one on this past weekend!). I'll be trying out ST185/ST165 coilovers at some point, along with putting in the ST205 rear end, subframe and brakes. After all that, I'll finally swap the motor over. No use messing with a great daily driver, right?

Hey Charlie, your gonna have to share some of your suspension finds with me when I get around to finally changing it.
I've got some work to do on the front and rear bumpers because someone hit me at both ends. I'm thinking new bumper covers and possibly a new stock hood (scoop is custom made by me 90camdx4).

I'll be here whenever you have questions about suspension...
Speaking of fitting... I am about 90% sure that ST185/ST165 exhaust bolts on to the car too. There is a chance that one of the rear tow hooks gets in the way, but everything else looks just right...
The only part of the conversion that I am worried about is the Auto to manual conversion. I'm glad I have an good working SV21 chassis to work with for that.

Niiiiice, amazing what you can do with a scrap yard car, huh? All in all, though, that car was clean when you found it. Up here in the "Great White North" as southerners like to call it, the constant exposure to salted roads means rust forms everywhere: fenders, rear quarters, bumper brackets, weld seams inside the wheel wells, floor boards, the list goes on...

I was lucky enough to find it in such great shape. There was only slight rust on the rear wheel wells and around the front windshield. Funny though, the car was originally from Colorado (came with the owners manual and dealer info)
The cluster came from my ST205 clip, with a very rare TRD 300 KPH speedo.
This next pic was soooo funny. The car was kinda quick with all the crap off of it. Redline launches are fun when your trying to kill the stock 3SFE
