Question Reading Diag code...

Hey guys,

My check engine light came on this morning while driving in to work. I dont have a reader but I was wondering if there is a way to jump two pins to read the diag code from the check engine light flashing or something?

I was told about this from my friend but I just thought to ask here because he is not a Toyota owner...

Thanks for the response in advance...

Yup, it's like morse code. A specific sequence of long and/or short flashes. Get a helper to jump the terminals under the hood with a paper clip while you watch the flashes on the dash.

The Haynes and Chiltons manuals have a listing of what each code indicates.

The light went away so I will have to do it again a later time. I just wanted to know what it is and now I will not able to do so.

Next time...
