ha ha ha, Ive got 2 1g's (well technically 2g's).

Both are 1 owner cars with between 236 and 270 K. The blue hb is my daily and I have a 2 tone brown LE sedan for parts. So mine now has the digitronic cluster and the alloys (soon to be "woodified")

Oh yeah, thats is a roof rack, I still need to make the wooden slats for it though

update...... What a pain in the ass to swap to the digitronic cluster. Had to cut off the stock harness and solder in the digitronic one.

And now the frickin gas gauge dosent work..... electrical diagnosis, my favorite!

You need the fuel sending unit from the car that you got the digicluster from...i assume it's from a gen 2? just get the unit wire it up and you will be okay.

I just did a search and was reading about switching the fuel sending unit, at least I still have the parts car.

WTF are the 2 other wires though, theres one thats black wit ha white tracer, and green with a yellow (wait, mabey white) tracer and one paint mark.

what does not work on the cluster besides the fuel gauge? it could be the extra wires for the fuel sending unit.

The only thing that dosent work in the fuel gauge. The 2 wires with "no home" lead to the center plug, not the one nearest the fuel gauge so who knows.

I take it that the fuel sender install means that I have to run some more wires through the car? I was thinking it was just goping to be a "plug & play" deal (but then again thats what I thought about the dash install too, ha ha ha)

Nice job. I love to see the Gen1 modded out a bit.

Hows it going over bumps? I catch everything when I get a fully loaded car...I mean almost everything. Of course it was scary having 6 people in it. Keep in mind that it is all from stock (worn) struts and springs...

A picture I took how low it was...

I would love to spend more money to fix up my Gen1. These things are hard to find in good shape anymore. Wish it had more power, but the 2SE are hard engines to kill.

As for the digi dash, All i know is that you need the fuel sender from the car with the digital dash, but I don't know if you need to route a cable or not

Im going to pick up some coilovers for it tonight... then just to move the upper strut mounts up about 3".

I would like to get my hands on a 83 Front end with the old style headlights if anyone knows where I can get one for hella cheap OR free let me know

For anyone else with a 1G, just get Celica suspention stuff, its the same. The GR-2 inserts are hella cheap and just get some decent 5G Celica lowering springs. The 1G even has factory adjustable camber things in the front so youwill be able to get it aligned again.

**edited first post to update mods list

Hmm...

I really the Gen1 and Gen1.5 front. Best bet is the junkers...but I can't seem to find any Gen1 Camry in the Junkers here. Anyhow, I did a small swap with the clear front binker covers (the rectange covers) from the Gen2 Camry (I think the 90~91). The Corollas around that year with the front clear blinkers cover will work also. I just had to buy orange instead of clear bulbs though. I stand out from the Gen1 community with those...well what is left of the Gen1 on this island...

...

I wish I could find Gen1's. All the junkers I go say they have no Gen1. A junker here had a GOOD '85 in RUNNING condition when they bought it in. Next day I went in, it was on a flat bed to go to the crusher...

seriously, wth. It had 95K on the car and the body was in good shape with no rust...

What a waste...
