1989 Camry LE wiper fuse blown

I've got a 1989 Camry that keeps blowing the wiper fuse. I'm going to check the motor and linkages tonight. I assume if the fuse blows that perhaps the linkages are siezed causing the fuse to blow? I hope this is a quick fix....

Anyone have this problem before?

Its more then likely the motor. I would think if the linkages were locked up that the motors would get hot and burn up, but I could be wrong.

Ok, its not the motor. I ran a line from the battery to the wiper motor and it works fine in both slow and fast modes. However when I plug the wiper motor into the wiring harness it blows the fuse again.
2nd question...where is the wiper relay located? I've got a Haynes book but its practically worthless. Thanks again.....

Have you checked the motor parking switch used to stop the blade in the correct position, the switch is built into the motor. The wiper relay might be built into the wiper control switch inside the car. The washer pump is also on this fuse.

Well then I guess I have no choice but to replace the wiper motor assembly if that is where the short is blowing the fuse. I'll talk to my Toyota dealership tomorrow and ask. They're pretty friendly. I've seen a used wiper motor on BadBay for $18.95.
