Gen 2 Tranny Swap

Ive heard that the V6 tranny is essentially the same, but will it bolt RIGHT up to a I4 engine? Main reason why Im askin is becuz a friend of mines got a V6 Camaro, and he was gonna do a V8 swap. Ppl on a forum said the V6 tranny is the same, so he wudnt have to get a new one. HE found that its the same tranny, but different bolt holes. I need a new tranny, and I was thinkin bout a V6 (might have better gear ratios), so I was makin sure it wasnt the same thing for the Camrys...

Is your current tranny auto or manual?

If your putting in another manual tranny or swapping over to manual you can use a tranny from a 86 - 89 Celica GT-S (3S-GE).

You can also use the E153 tranny from a V6 Camry or Solara.
