2nd Generation Ect

Hi,

On my 89 Camry the ECT button for Power mode was working ok but has now suddenly stopped working. Is there any tips anyone can give me as to what to check for? When I press the button the light changes on the dash from Norm to Power and vice versa but it doesn't make the change in performance like before.

Also, does someone know what kind of MPG this car is supposed to get? 89 Camry 4 cyl Auto.

Thanks!!

The lights are wired directly to the switch and do not indicate if the computer is actually changing the shift pattern. A Blue/Red wire splits off from the one going to the light and runs to the trans computer.

An I4 will get around 26 mpg overall, perhaps 35 with freeway only on long trips.
