Interstate speed shaking - CV joint? Wheel bearing?

Hi all!

I've recently been having a problem with my '91 4cyl, automatic. When I get to interstate speed (around between 67-80 mph) the whole car shakes pretty badly, it seems to originate from the front drivers side. Originally this started about three months ago, but I took it to a mechanic who replaced my drivers side tie-rod end, and the problem went away. However, recently it has come back, and after taking it to two mechanics (a tire place and then another mechanic) they couldn't really find the problem, so they suggested replacing the front driver's side tire (which was out of round) and getting the tired rotated and balanced, which I did, however this didn't fix the problem. I got under the car yesterday and noticed the outer cv boot was torn and there was very little grease there, could this be causing the problem, or could it be a wheel bearing problem? Or something else?

Any idea on how much that'd cost if that's what it was?
