PO 446 Evap 98 Camry Florida

My wife arrived at our home in florida on friday. started 98 camry le battery dead, jumped resolved and drove.

Later in day Malfunction Lamp came on. Read info here and had her take to autozone for diag. Po code came back 446 (elect evap emission cs)

threads here say to check all vacuum hoses etc. Im wondering if the car left sitting 10 months would affect this?

In any event can you suggest the necessary check steps you would suggest before i move to next level.

Thanks JoeW

First of all, your 98 Camry is a generation 4. In the future, it would be better if you posted questions in the Generation 3 and 4 forum.

That said, doing a search for P0446 turned up this informative thread among others:

CEL - P0446 !!! Help needed
