Gen1 1985 Camry fender repair question

My '85 Camry was damaged in a parking lot (hit and run, arrgh!) and I've since been unable to open my driver's door.

It appears that something bent in the front driver's side fender (front quarter panel), just in front of the door, which is keeping the door from opening more than 3-4 inches without hitting the center edge of the fender.

My first idea involved wrapping a tool (crowbar? claw hammer?) and trying to pry out the fender edge from between the fender and the door, but I'm concerned about damaging the door in the process.

What would you suggest? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thank you for the suggestion. I suppose I'd be willing to do that if it isn't at all possible to repair the original fender (or have it repaired).

it would be cheaper to get one from the scrappys rather than get it repaired unless you have some wild colour that they might not have at the boneyard.

Good point. It's just the stock light blue metallic, which (judging from what I still see on the roads) is pretty common around here. Thanks for the input.

which is why i suggested the junk yard... it's usually 40-50$ a fender at those pull it yourself yards..
