Need Some More Help

Hey if anyone on here knows what engines will fit on a 1990 camry please let me know.

I am trying to do a transmission swap as of now but I would like to know which engines out there are good and that will fit a 1990 camry.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

I heard of 3sgte and that's about it ...

Which is the strongest one of those 3 that you mentioned?

3S-GE
gen1: 135bhp (ST162)
gen2: 156bhp (ST182)
gen3: 173bhp (ST202, SW20)
BEAMS
gen4: 200bhp
gen5: 210bhp

3sgte
1st Generation (190 HP) 1988-89 ST165 (Celica GT4/All-Trac)
2nd Generation(200 HP) 1990-93 ST185 (Celica GT4/Alltrac)/1990-199x(?) SW20 (MR2 Turbo)
3rd Generation (260 HP) 1994-99 ST205 (Celica GT4) Note: not released in U.S.

5sfe is basicly a stroked 3sfe.. so you're only looking at 150hp.

woops i forgot to mention... if you do the tranny swap also... 3sgte will work with the e153 or the e series tranny unless you want to blow up the s53 I4 tranny... it'll bolt up fine.. but the tranny will just blow up if you drive it hard..

1vz-fe - 2L JDM gen2 Camry V6 140?hp
2vz-fe - 2.5L US gen2 Camry V6 156hp
3vz-fe - 3.0L US gen3 Camry V6 180hp
1mz-fe - 3.0L US gen4 Camry V6 194hp
3mz-fe - 3.3L US gen5? Camry V6 220?hp

Effectively any motor from the S, VZ or MZ series will fit without much trouble.

All those will fit with varying levels of work. The easiest way to get 200+ hp is probably the 3s-gte, but I would like to see somebody do a 1mz-fe swap... 200hp with great gas mileage!

more cylinders equal more thrust, any v6 will pull harder than the 3sfe off the line and go up hills easier

Little to no cutting, but everything else depends on what you start with and what you go to (auto or manual on each end) and what parts you are willing to buy. Wiring is also a hassle for most swappers, as is finding parts.
