Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
mines an automatic and there is a button to push that either puts it in NRM (normal) and PWR (power). All I've noticed is a slightly better throttle response when it's in PWR.. I don't really know the whole purpose of that feature. (Kind of like how it has the little handle by the ebrake and it says to pull in case of emergency or something.. is this like superior technology from toyota in the early 90s? hah)
Its a button to make ur car pick up faster and is used when u want to overpass quickly is can be turned off by pressing the button beside ur ebrake it might have been accidentally pressed if this is the first time seeing it. turnin it off u will go back into nrm (normal)
To clarify for you guys, that little button controls the ECT (electronic control transmission). When the ECT is in NORM, the transmission shifts for optimal fuel consumption. When set to PWR, the transmission shifts much higher in each gear, allowing greater acceleration but poorer fuel mileage. Keep it in NORM unless you're performing a neutral-drop at a stoplight with the engine at 4000rpm in order to embarass the Civic next to you. JUST KIDDING!

I relocated mine to the dash to avoid pushing it by mistake...its also easier to locate when you're in a hurry and need the "POWER"
Yeah, when I'm in heavy traffic--and I need to pass a lot--I find myself driving with my right hand on the ECT button, to press it at a moment's notice...annoying location.

Yes, it is. Logically, you couldn't have it on a manual, where the driver determines every shift point all the time.
