To remove the crank timing gear try the following:
Inject the WD40 into the keyway;
insert the flat screwdriver 3/8 inches wide blade between the gear and the oil pump casting.
slowly ROTATE (twist), not PRY the screwdriver the small amount; do the same about 180 degrees from the first place
if hes getting the pump swapped hes already got the pan off, get underneath and get 2 screwdrivers on opposite sides and pry it off, if ya break the pump your putting a new one on it anyways
I tried and tried. penitrating oil, big screwdrivers rubber mallets, nothing. Not a mm. in fact its capable of bending my big screwdriver (the 3/8" flathead) Im at a loss here.
In my vast experience of pulling two of those, I'm not sure why it would be stuck on there so hard. Is it square on the crank snout? If it's cocked in there at an angle it would make it difficult to pull out.

I can understand what you mean. I am not sure its on strait but I dont see any inconsistancies on the area between the gear and the shaft. (meaning the wider area would show the other side of the gear is to close to the shaft) Ive pulled 1 other gear, but Ive pulled it off many times. first time was a real pain the in arse. after that it wasnt that hard. maybe its just been 60k+ miles since It was last off.
Im getting real tired. I managed to damage the gear. not bad. but I did score it. (not on the teeth so I should be able to mend it) but still no movment (I can see) I dont know what do to. gear puller aye. Forgot

Reason: remembered a gear puller tool
if nothing else works, get all the bolts out of the pump and bust it from underneath where the oil pan was and after you get it all broken away get a bar behind it from underneath and drive it off
Also I see holes in the end of that gear, if they are tapped either use a puller or if you cant get one right now, just find two bolts that fit and drill a piece of steel to make your own puller.
