Carrera Struts FTW

Just a quick plug.

Called Carrera last week. They make custom strut inserts and coil overs and what not.

Bottom line, going to be getting front strut inserts for the '86 Cam that are 3.5" shorter in the body length then the stock units for $128 a side. Also, these things are fully rebuildable so when they wear out you can take em apart and refurbish them.

Now I only need to raise the shock towers 1" mabey 2" tops to get the desired ride height.

They'l make em for anyone, just call them up and tell them what you want. The ones Im getting are "street performance" which is fine by me sincy my only real goal is to be low. Using the shorter inserts will allow me to cut down the stock strut housing and only have to raise the strut tower 1 or 2 inches and still maintain a bit of suspention travel, instead of 4".

Is it too low when you have to raise the engine and transmission... and notch the frame for the axles? ha ha ha ha.
