take mesurements and i'm sure you can figure it out

wow, that is something else. I would measure and try. Im currently adding a "better" sound system to my gen 2. Im just going to replace the old speakers though, i dont want to run wires from my door to the rest of the car.. The door is barely held on by those 2 hinges...

yeah, unless you make a mount that holds on to the actual door, not the interior trim it'll probably just rattle/crack its way out

Cos the stock location sucks and their also puny speakers (3.5" or 4").

Heres a pic of my door panels:

The panel is 1/2" MDF with a piece of 3/4" MDF glued onto the top of the 1/2" piece.

The 3/4" piece is sanded down so its at an angle and I used bondo to blend the 2 pieces together.

Speaker mounts on top of the 3/4" piece and the grill sits into a lip (used a router with a straight cutting bit).

The whole panel is then wrapped with vinyl.

Speakers are a Oz Audio 5 1/4" mid and Lanzar DCT tweet (1" solf silk dome).

With a whole bunch of little self tapping screws.

The screws go in from the backside of the stock door panel into the new panel.

I ran the wires through the stock grommet / rubber boot (in between the door and the car). Used a coat hanger and fished the wires through.

Crossovers are mounted underneath the dash to the plastic panel that pops off.
