2nd Generation Fuel door latch replacement

Hi!
Someone has recently stolen fuel from my 1988 Camry Sation Wagon. In the process, the small latch-sprint that releases the fuel door was destroyed.
I managed to obtain an official spare-part (actually, it is the whole fastening, including the spring, the latch, the part where the wire is fastened and the supporting plate) and now I would like to replace it myself.

The problem is that I do not know how to access the inside of the chassi to get access to replacing this part. I assume I need to remove the plastic side-wall of the luggage-compartment, but I don't know how.

Do anyone of you have any tips on how to do this? Is there a manual I can download (or buy?) I live in Sweden, and is not very good at renovating cars, but it would be fun to give it a try myself... Please help!

2nd Generation

When mine broke I was able to prop the gas door release lever up with my wallet while I pried the door open. After that you just pull off the old spring thing and put the new one on.
