struts

Is it possible to tell which type of struts[serviceable vs non-servicable] are on the car before disassembling?? i'd like to buy the parts ahead of time because its cheaper through mail order. thx,mike

take off the wheel and see if there's a big nut on top of the strut bottom.that's servieable... if you see welding marks then it's not

Why does it matter if they are serviceable or not if you are replacing them? Just curious.

serviceable are much cheaper because you reuse the strut shell and install the new cartridge/guts.
