What should I get, Stock crank pulley or after market under drive?

I need a new crank pulley. Should I get a used salvage yard one, or will it be almost bad too? Buy a new one ($110) or get an after market under drive (ebay $161). I know that the under drive pulleys don't have built in harmonic balancer, does this make a difference? Does anyone on the board have an under drive pulley on there 3S-FE?

Thanks,

Dave

What's bad with yours that you need to replace it?

The outer ring slips on the inner rubber hub. So it is impossible to time the ignition.

If I recall correctly, there are three or four threaded holes on the pulley that go through both the large outer pulley and smaller inner pulley (the one that attaches to the crankshaft). Could you put a small bolt or two in there to keep it together?

It may work as a band-aid fix until you find a new pulley.
