If I drive my Camry before it is warmed up, it will not shift out of third gear and into fourth. Once the temperature needle has moved past the cold line, it seems to shift just fine. Any reason why it would be doing this?

to warm up the car for emission... since O2 sensor doesn't work too well till it's warmed up and the cat also

Typically on Camry the computer will not allow the O/D to engage if the coolant temp is below say 131F.

Ok. Thanks for the help! I thought something was wrong with my transmission. I guess I just never noticed it before.

Mine just started doing this half-way through this past winter. I'm attributing it to less-than-stellar block heater performance rather than to transmission problems. 225K km on the car and I'm expecting some small erosion of performance... I honestly don't think it was doing this last year, I swear I would have noticed.
