Gen1 Wiring harness adapter plug

Posted this thread under the stereo section, Didn't notice too many GEN 1 posts just wanted to make sure it was seen .

"I have an 86 Camry LE with the deluxe stereo system and I will be replacing it with an after market system. Does anyone know if the standard wiring adapter that is out there for sale will work on the LE models ? or is it different ? All of the ones that I have found just say 83 to 86 Camry but never make note if you have the LE stereo upgrade. Thanks !"

Bill

I have an LE and it works on mine. I bought it from best buy because they have a universal Toyota harness and has six or so plugs and you just use the ones that fit.

According to the MFG website it should work. I've never had a problem with Metra products.

I have an 84 LX w/ stereo and EQ, I was able to re- use what was there and wire it into my aftermarket stereo, and it will unplug easily, you just need a wiring diagram, I bought a chilton book for camrys and it had it, not sure tho if its the same.
