Man, I wish I had a couple thousand sitting around so that I could upgrade this 230K mile beater I've got now. For $450 mine '90 4-banger has been well worth the money. Knowing now what I know...when this thing dies I'm going to look for one like this!

Ha ha ha , nope.

How about shot peened and cryod rods, ARP head studs, upgrade headgasket and 30+ psi.

Can you think of anything more humiliating that losing your ass to an aincient rattly diesel Camry blowing diesel soot like a motherfuker.

That's the feeling I get blowing the doors off trigger-happy kids in their pimped-out Civics with my rusty-ass V6 5-speed. No other feeling like it!

Yeah, I keep thinking that a V6 with 2 SAAB T25s on 20psi would probably pull pretty hard in the 1G. Especially since they bolt up to any "S" series transmission.

maybe next year.

Honestly though, for $2000 you can get a relatively low-mileage gen2 in a classier trim level. That one was bottom-of-the-food-chain, no frills...

Hell, buy a so-so 5-speed LE for $500 and put $1000 in body work into it and you'll have an unbeatable deal for less than that car went for. And you'll have non-ugly rims, and bumper covers that match the paint, and nice cloth interior...wow, apparently I've turned into a gen2 snob. Sorry!
