No Power

Hey team,

I'm looking at a 1991 Camry with 152K miles. It has the 4cyl 3S-FE 2.0
I attemted to start it and got the infamous "click". I took the starter to an auto shop and they said it was ok. I reinstalled it and hooked up a battery booster to the car and still got the click.
I turned the key twice more and now I get nothing. No click, lights or anything. Could I have fried something using the booster? If all the fuses check out, What should I check next?

Thanks for your help

open up the starter solenoid (3 screws) take the cap off, remove the starter contacts and change them. Sand down the plunger (the thing that comes off in your hand that is round and touches the contacts) just make sure you dont lose the little ball bearing inside. Lightly sand the plunger contact surface to get all the grit off. Then you can get the contacts at the dealer for like 10 bucks. This is the only way I was able to remedy my starter problems. Also, make sure there is no corrosion on the cables or the grounds to the motor.

Make sure when you install the contacts that they are FLUSH with the surface of the plunger, or else the contacts will wear quickly and unevenly.

good luck

this one was a freebie, next time please use the search, there are many good responces in other threads about this problem.
