Hi all,
Having to part with my 91 DX [cry, sob] with too many problems to repair (radiator, electrical problems, brakes, front suspension, tires and TONS of bodywork). My apartment mgmt recently discovered I don't have a current tag on it and has ordered me to remove it. First thing Monday morning, it's headed for the junkyard. I hope it won't take too many months of intensive therapy for me to recover. (grin) I -really- love this car!
Would not crank (it's -never- failed before), though it runs on ether (saturated air filter) so I assume ignition circuit is good. Pulled out shop manual and started troubleshooting. Fuel pump tests good. Engine Diagnostic code is 43 - ECU isn't getting signal from IGN circuit (book says short or open). I'm sure this is where mice invaded it several years ago and chewed insulation from wires in trunk (already fixed). Found droppings in passenger floorboard and bits of loose sound-proofing behind passenger side kick panel - so I suspect they chewed wires under dash, too.
In trying to troubleshoot, I pulled passenger side lower dash apart looking for ECU (book doesn't give clear indication of location) - and can't find it! Could someone tell me where to look for it?
Was looking for a Gen 2 body to put eng/trans & interior into - but have run out of time.
Since I have to give the car up

(shame too, low miles, excellent engine, transmission, interior and A/C has never needed charge), I was going to pull the ECU and try to sell it separately. Anybody know -exactly- where I should be looking?
Again, it's a '91 DX 4Dr Sedan, Front Wheel Drive, with 3S-FE 4cyl engine. VIN: 4T1SV21E3MU360874. I can provide more info if needed.
Thanks in advance!
