if you are talking about two wires that are coming to each injector's connector (not cold start injector), on 87 model they are arranged like this: cylinder 1 red and wht, cylinder 2 blue and yellow, cylinder 3 red and wht, cylinder 4 blue and yellow. The 88 most likely has the same colors however the injectors and their connectors are different!![88to91 the same]

The red and blue wires are 12 V power supply to the injectors, the yellow and white wires are going from injectors to the ECU 10 and 20 terminals; THE ECU GROUNDS THESE WIRES for specific time opening injectors using 2 INJECTOR CIRCUIT TRANSISTOR SWITCHES, LOCATED INSIDE ECU. In order to measure the opening time you need to place some sort of inductive pickup loops around white and yellow wires next to the ECU. These pickups will sense 2 pulses as the current begins/stops to flow through the wire; the short time between the peaks will be the time when injector is open, you may need some type of indutive scope for this.

Keep in mind that the 3s-fe uses pairs of injectors at a time for fuel. This will change the calculation somewhat. You will also need to know the injector size. I think it is somewhere around 200cc/min...

A little correction to above post: second gen. 3sfe uses simultaneous injection; all injectors are spraying at same time once per crank revolution.

yes. i wasn't plannin on that detailed. more like a comparative scale instead of actual consumption. just to see the amount of fuel used in different rpms etc.
