Dont be a smartass. I am asking only because i wanted to see what others have done and because when i search for suspension products, i can only find them for 91 and newer.
from what i remember there is another company that made springs for the gen2 camry, "B+G Springs"
Also Dobinson/Whiteline makes for gen2, i know because i have a set...not yet installed on my 90 camry. Intrax springs are easier to get then the ones i have, that's your best bet.
The most common set up guys on the forum are running are either kyb struts and Initrax springs or kyb struts and B+G springs. from what I've read people are very happy with either set up. Both ofer a 1.5 drop all the way around after they've settled. Keep us posted man really interested to see how rota's would look on the gen 2.
I have intrax/kyb, white line bars on a '88 wagon, and love the ride. Smooth for a daily driver, but wouldn't be hard enough for a track car. I would DEFINITELY trim you bump stops, the directions don't say to but if you don't you will be bouncing off them. I just had to replace my spring insulators on the top in the front. When I took the struts apart I noticed one of my bump stops was gone. I bought a new set from advanced auto and put them in. I forgot to trim them. And the car rode very bouncy than compared to before. I trimmed them down to 1" There is only about 2.5" of strut sticking out and that is what you car has for work with for suspension and the factory length bump stop takes up most of this.
Also another tip. The spring insulators are usually shot on the bottoms for the springs. 1/2" heater hose slid over the end of the first coil works good, and it is cheap.
Im getting the car probably this weekend, the owner when i last talked to him had to recharge the ac and replace a few things, but i hope to have the car on the road by next week.
Then it has to get 3 rust spots around the wheel wells on the body removed and patched, and a dent on the roof and a dent on the trunk need to be flatened. Then im going to have it painted either white or a candy blue (i think the candy blue would be too extreme for a 90 camry)
So you guys think i should get struts too? Or the stock ones are fine just for now?
Yea im stuck between Rota J-Mags and Rota D2's, but i also like a few others so idk yet.
